Responsibilities
• Lead the mechanical design of tools, fixtures, automated and manual production stations and assembly devices used in production
• Ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and manufacturability
• Collaborate with manufacturing, process, and automation engineers to develop efficient tooling solutions
• Provide technical support from concept through prototyping and implementation on the production floor
• Continuously improve existing tooling designs to optimize cycle time, ergonomics, and cost
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all design stages and revisions
• Work closely with suppliers, purchasing, and cross-functional departments to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of tooling solutions
Main Tasks
• Design and develop CAD models and 2D technical drawings for tools, jigs, assembly fixtures, automated and manual production stations
• Participate in design reviews and risk assessments for production equipment
• Align designs with production needs, considering ease of use, maintenance, and robustness
• Support commissioning and validation of tooling on-site at production facilities
• Analyze and select materials suited for durability, wear resistance, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with external suppliers for tooling manufacturing and ensure quality of delivered solutions
• Conduct FMEA and implement feedback from testing and production performance data
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial automation or production tooling
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar)
• Solid understanding of machining, welding, assembly, and general manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with design standards, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
