We are looking for a skilled and motivated Tools and Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in industrial automation, with experience in designing, programming, and commissioning automated solutions as well as overall experience in general mechanical design.


Responsibilities

 

  • Design, develop and commission automated stations and small assembly lines using a combination of sensors, PLC and robotic systems to ensure stable, safe and efficient production
  • Design, implement, and optimize HMI and operator ease of use for production environment
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechancal drawings
  • Work closely with suppliers, R&D, Purchasing and other departments in order to deliver solutions in time and quality as well as to share knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in automation and safety
  • Write detailed technical documentation, including system design specifications, operational and maintenance manuals
  • Specify, document, design, test, and validate mechanical tools, production jigs and fixtures used in production
  • Support project team in project delivery through development of manufacturing concept, focusing on tooling and automation and product datuming strategy


Requirements

 

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation or other related field focusing on automation.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in areas like industrial process automation, control and robot systems development or other related field.
  • Experience and expertise working with Siemens SIMATIC solutions and TIA Portal
  • Knowledge of industrial communication standards such as Modbus TCP, Profibus etc.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robots, robotic system integration, and overall motion control.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia, or similar) in the area of tooling design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and adapt the message to the audience.
  • Ability to listen and collaborate, even when not agreeing with counterpart.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken

 

Considered as an Advantage

 

  • Experience and expertise working with ABB and Fanuc robot systems
  • Track record of delivering automation solutions from concept to production
  • Knowledge of product development phases and their implications for automation
  • Familiarity with machining, additive manufacturing and sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Proven experience with industrial safety application equipment: Light Curtains, Safety Relays, Door Switches, Safety Scanners, etc.
  • Proven mechanical capability to size and select mechanical components, such as gearboxes, ballscrews, belt drives, motors, etc.
  • Industry relevant certifications in area of automation
