 Responsibilities

 

  • Work according to ePlans electrical designs or guidance from an electrical engineer
  • Assemble, upgrade and modify industrial cabinets (power supply, PLC and PDU cabinets)
  • Integrate energy storage testing hardware comprised of climatic chambers, power cyclers, coolant conditioners and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
  • Assemble and modify DAQ cabinets.
  • Manage DAQ system software and ensure that new DAQ builds are configured appropriately for measurement
  • Maintain and ensure cleanliness of the preparation areas in line with standards.
  • Identify and order tools or components required for cabinet assembly and testing.
  • Support unit under test integration with test engineer / operator support.
  • Install sensors and safety systems required for testbed operation.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance of test infrastructure equipment.
  • Create and maintain equipment/system log files.

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience reading electrical diagrams and capable of wiring equipment according to electrical diagrams.
  • Knowledge of different fittings and techniques for assembling electrical components, cables, DAQ, sensors and other equipment.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation sensors
  • Able to provide assembly and fabrication advice to electrical engineers.
  • Self-sufficient and able to optimize tasks to achieve efficiency.
  • Knowledge and experience of assembling Industrial cabinets and equipment
  • Knowledge of Industrial electrical installations (Cable trays, grounding and bonding, labeling)
  • Capable of supporting process creation or creating process documents.
  • Readiness for occasional travel during the day between RT sites to conduct electrical installation work and support test operators.

 

Skills

 

  • Electrical assembly:
    • Able to assemble electrical cabinets (Power supply and PLC control cabinets).
    • Able to conduct tests on electrical installations (Measure ground resistance, insulation, RCD).
  • Computer proficiency
    • Able to use Microsoft Office

 

Considered as advantage

 

  • Assembly knowledge of electronic components batteries, motors, e-axles, and inverters
  • Familiarity with basic industrial network concepts:
    • Check or change IP address of a device, IP ping
    • Use remote desktop software to connect to other computers in the network
  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN Bus) communication protocol
  • Familiarity with battery testing systems or automotive testing.
  • Experience managing electrical workshops.
  • Experience calibrating electrical testing equipment or sensors.
  • Able to: 
    • Perform rudimentary machining tasks
    • Solder
  • Knowledge of different fittings and techniques for assembling cooling loops, cables and other equipment.
