Rimac Energy are an exciting new division of Rimac Group looking to leverage Rimac’s expertise in battery tech, power electronics and software to commercialise a next-generation ESS and power conversion system for grid energy scale applications.
Rimac Energy is seeking an individual with broad and well rounded experience, ideally in the renewable energy sector, to support the technical product definition, validation and application of our next-generation battery system and power conversion systems. It’s desirable that the candidate has experience certifying battery and/or power conversion systems as well as experience going through the grid code compliance process to standards such as EN 50549.
The individual will be responsible for ensuring that our products are compliant with the necessary standards and regulations for relevant markets. The aim is to design our products so as to make this integration as seamless as possible across a range of different projects in various countries, not only in Europe but also the US and Australia. This individual will work very closely with multiple teams in particular providing the link between Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management and Industrialisation.
This role will also include working as part of a dynamic team to help develop and execute our vision, mission & values and concretizing our objective to do measurable social and environmental good.

Responsibilities
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Become the go-to individual within the overall Rimac Energy team for questions regarding product compliance and specific standards and regulations (including UL Standards, IEC standards, EU Directives, grid codes and other.)
Liaise with governing bodies to stay on top of upcoming changes to regulations and standards that may impact Rimac Energy.
Be a key contact and stakeholder with certification bodies and test houses, used through the product certification process.
Develop and drive internal processes required to demonstrate product compliance with ROHS, REACH and other regulations, working with supply chain, project management and industrialization teams.
Collate necessary technical and supply chain information to support the certification process, introducing new toolsets and SW packages as required to manage our documentation in a compliant manner.
Formally capture product requirements, in particular those driven by legislation, to help drive engineering decisions on existing and future products.
Support the generation and execution of our product DVP (Design Validation Plan), in particular related to certification testing for different markets, including but not limited to Grid Code Compliance testing (EN 50549, G99 and similar)
Support team culture and working environment, as a positive influence in the office.
Required Qualification
Degree in Engineering, Physics, or other mathematically focussed subject preferred
Required Experience
5 or more years of experience in a relevant industry.
Preference for experience in the Renewable Energy or Grid sectors on projects such as solar inverters, BESS etc
However, experience in automotive or industrial fields with high compliance and certification requirements is also deemed very relevant, especially if related to compliance/certification of electrical systems.
Required Skills
Experience in certifying battery systems and/or power conversion systems, ideally for grid support applications.
Strong understanding of grid codes, electrical safety, EMC and other compliance requirements
Experience in coordinating and planning validation testing, both at internal and external facilities.
Background technical understanding of battery systems and power electronics
Organised with project management experience
Excellent attention to detail
Strong drive to learn, research and expand knowledge within the Battery Energy Storage sector
Strong interpersonal skills, collaborating with people of different technical backgrounds
Strong verbal and written skills.
Desirable Skills
Appreciation of Functional Safety requirements and standards such as IEC 61508
Appreciation of quality management systems for engineering programs, such as APQP
Experience with engineering requirements capture tools (JAMA, Polarion or similar)
