Responsibilities
Choose the correct equipment and methods according to the requirements for the Laser Welding process’ (including Laser cleaning treatment technology and vision systems used for quality control)
Responsible for implementation of laser welding and laser cleaning technology – working cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing in part production and assembly
Liaising with internal departments (Engineering, Quality, Plant/Production, Sample Shop and others) as well as external stakeholders (such as suppliers).
Suggest & implement best practice processes, equipment setup, and machines being led by cost optimization, project time plan and technical advantages and/or limitations
Evaluating the impact of engineering changes and deviations, with the option of the implementing the same on new or existing equipment and process setups
Develop, analyze and enhance manufacturing methods/technologies to assist production requirements
Depending on the technology, research the latest suppliers. technology achievements, equipment upgrades
Maintaining relations with suppliers (direct suppliers, integrators, and similar) being aware of their R&D’s, and updating them about market needs all on regular occasions through technical meetings, visits through fairs, and directly on-site
Working across numerous projects whilst maintaining individual vision of the priorities and timings
Organize and plan a feasibility study related to weldability, requirements, and cycle time achievement in cooperation with Sample Shop and Engineering
Metallurgical and Quality Analysis of Welds during process development and station commissioning
Failure Root Cause Analysis of the process, equipment, metallurgical issues, and problem statements – through technical support on QRQC
Perform laser welding and cleaning trials and find the best technologies available for the vision system, clamping, laser welding and cleaning equipment set up, etc either in-house or in cooperation with suppliers
Tracking and implementing lessons learned across various projects
Preparing and issuing Manufacturing Design Recommendations for Engineering based on experience technical knowledge and practice
FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities of dispensing and plasma treatment stations – the ability to work at supplier sites internationally
Other duties as assigned
Spend time on the production floor analyzing the production process, which includes adjusting the robot trajectory for welding, checking jigs and tools for correct operation, adjusting vision systems etc.
Support prototype builds (machine operation).
