Task and Responsibilities:
- Organize and conduct relevant Environmental protection trainings for employees
- Draft and update instructions for waste management and sustainable management of resources
- Record Environmental deficiencies, address it to responsible persons
- Keep records of deficiencies and inform supervisor on statistics and progress
- Prepare and support employees for inspection visits and third parties, such as inspectors from Ministry, auditors and externals
- Conduct internal inspections and evaluation of workplace environment
- Cooperation with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations
- Ensure the company’s compliance with environmental regulations (air quality, waste disposal, water usage) and manage all necessary environmental permits, documentation, and reporting
- Support the handling of waste for disposal, including hazardous and non-hazardous material to department for waste management and licensed waste disposal companies
- Initiate to reduce the company's environmental footprint by implementing programs aimed at waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency
- Monitor and optimize energy and resource usage, suggesting improvements to reduce the company’s overall environmental impact
- Create and maintain the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Support regulatory inspections and audits, addressing any findings related to waste management
- Systematic monitoring and continuous preparation of data for the monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting of the amount of waste produced from imported goods to the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund
- Systematic monitoring and continuous preparation of data for the annual reporting of waste quantities to the Register of Environmental Pollutants, PNOS forms (Croatian Environment and Nature Agency)
- Finding solutions for increasing the percentage of waste separation and reducing the quantity of municipal waste
- Responsibility for the implementation of training, familiarization of workers in the field of environmental protection and raising awareness about environmental protection in the company
- Communicate all deficiencies and non-compliance to supervisor
- Ensure compliance with legislation and incorporate any updates in law into company’s strategy
- Be up to date with any change in Croatian legislation
Skills and Competencies:
- Qualification in environmental protection is mandatory
- Understand the application of all Environmental protection legislation relevant to the Company’s business
- Professional in approach to dealing with issues and employees
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Excellent knowledge of English
