The Electrical DMU Engineer is responsible for design of wiring topology on a vehicle level as well as implementation of electrical components according to its specific guidelines with consideration of internal standards. You will collaborate closely with circuit engineers as well as other design areas such as body, chassis, trims, powertrain in order to deliver solutions within the vehicle DMU environment. You will align internally with Expert engineers which will review, approve, guide and help you. Activities relating to designs under your ownership will be fully supported throughout the vehicle build phases.
Responsibilities:
- Hardware packaging, layout and topology design.
- Preparing CAD data with all needed attributes and dress-up (electrification, clearance map, viewing angles, etc.)
- Wiring topology design and physical objects packaging according to design rules.
- Following PLM processes and internal standards.
- Supporting Vehicle buildMethodology and process reporting into the Program for technical status across the function.
- Actively promote harmonisation across Vehicle Technology, Engineering and Vehicle Integration groups.
- Align operational team to the program deliverables and timing.
- Supervise Program KPIs (Releases, Issue Resolution, Gateway Deliverables)
- Allocate the program functional team in the area they are responsible to deliver from pre G0 activities.
- Trouble-shooting issues within the function, both pre/post-SOP.
- Comply with company and HR policies and process.
- Motivate and develop employees in technical delivery and skills as well as personal growth.
- Deputise for the Manager DMU design where/when required.
Requirements:
- Previous proven experience in a similar role within an automotive OEM or T1 supplier, preferably within premier Motorsports categories or within a low volume Supercar/Hypercar production.
- Demonstrated technical and professional background in 3DX (Catia) and Excellent team player and communicator, able to work with and motivate cross functional teams.
- Ability to organise multiple technical inputs, summarise and present to program and C level.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage a varied workload to tight deadlines.
