The stakes are high.
As a fast-moving company, we nurture a high-performing culture. If you are interested in joining, you must be prepared for relentless learning, adapting, and embracing new technologies. We expect an easy-going person, but also self-driven, entrepreneurial, and highly independent in their work, that will enjoy rising to the challenge and have fun pushing the limits of technology.
Our expectations are high. And we can only achieve our goals with the dedication and collaboration of our exceptional team. Our ambition is to deliver and go the extra mile. We need to expand our already industry-leading team, find the best people, and lead the charge.
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Drivetrain NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding the NVH behaviour of electric drive units, focusing on electric motors and transmissions. You will collaborate with the development, simulation and testing teams, leveraging tools like AVL Excite and SMT MASTA for simulating and analysing NVH performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing test specifications and leading the correlation between test data and simulation results. The goal is to use these insights to drive continuous improvement in the development process. This position requires relocation to Zagreb, Croatia.
Responsibilities
1. NVH Analysis of Electric Drive Units: Lead the assessment and optimization of NVH behaviour for electric drive units, specifically electric motors and transmissions. Understand and analyse noise, vibration, and harshness characteristics to meet customer and industry standards.
2. Requirements Definition and Review: Responsible for defining clear project requirements, ensuring that all technical specifications align with project goals. Additionally, review customer requirements in detail, ensuring thorough understanding of their needs and expectations. Work closely with both internal teams and customers to align these requirements, ensuring seamless integration and the successful delivery of high-quality electric motors and transmissions.
3. Collaboration with Development and Simulation Teams: Work closely with the development and simulation departments to apply NVH principles using AVL Excite and SMT MASTA simulation tools. Ensure accurate correlations between simulation and real-world test data to enhance overall system performance and reliability.
4. Test Specification Creation: Develop detailed test specifications for evaluating the NVH performance of electric motors and transmissions. Coordinate with testing teams to ensure proper setup, execution, and data collection, enabling high-quality and reliable results.
5. Correlation Between Test and Simulation: Lead the process of correlating physical test results with simulation data. Analyse discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, refining simulation models for improved accuracy and reliability in future designs.
6. Continuous Process Improvement: Use findings from test and simulation correlation to drive continuous improvement in development processes. Apply insights gained to optimize future designs, testing procedures, and simulation methodologies, ensuring that NVH performance is continually enhanced.
7. Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve the sources of undesirable NVH behaviours in electric drive units. Utilize both simulation data and test results to develop effective solutions that improve the overall NVH performance of the drivetrain. Propose design improvements on both electric motor and transmission level to solve common NVH root causes.
8. Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize NVH performance by analysing test data and simulating different operating conditions. Strive to reduce noise and vibration levels while ensuring system durability, efficiency, and overall vehicle performance.
9. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including test plans, simulation data, analysis results, and correlation reports. Present findings and recommendations to management, ensuring clear communication of key insights and opportunities for improvement.
10. Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the development of NVH methodologies, tools, and best practices, ensuring that testing and simulation processes evolve with new technologies and industry advancements. Share knowledge and support the integration of lessons learned into future projects.
