Tasks

Regular tasks

    • Vehicle Commissioning Leadership: Lead and oversee the commissioning process during the full vehicle development phases (Prototype and Pre-series), ensuring readiness and process traceability.
    • System Validation: Validate system readiness for commissioning activities, confirming proper integration and functionality of all vehicle systems.

    • Technical Troubleshooting: Analyse faults, lead root cause investigations, and propose robust workarounds across systems and components.

    • Methodology & Process Oversight: Contribute to the development and refinement of commissioning standards, methodologies, and toolchains.

    • Reporting & Escalation: Ensure structured reporting of status and technical issues into the overall program structure, escalating risks and blockers as needed.

    • Functional Collaboration: Work in coordination with Vehicle Technology, Engineering, and Integration teams to align commissioning practices and goals.

Occasional tasks

    • Deputize for the Function Manager when required.
    • Provide technical support to vehicle and lab activities when necessary.

    • Mentor junior engineers and support personal development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning Ownership: Take ownership of the full commissioning process, from preparation through execution, ensuring systems are fully integrated and verified for each development milestone.

  • Standard & Toolchain Development: Drive improvement of commissioning methods, templates, and tools to increase robustness, efficiency, and traceability.

  • Team Leadership: Lead commissioning-related tasks across teams, supporting and guiding colleagues in technical execution and delivery.

  • Cross-functional Reporting: Ensure regular reporting of commissioning status and technical insights at program level, facilitating timely decision-making.

  • Issue Management: Act as technical escalation point for pre- and post-SOP troubleshooting within the commissioning domain.

  • Cultural Promotion: Actively promote technical excellence, harmonization across departments, and adherence to company values and processes.

Required skills and competencies

  • Vehicle Commissioning Expertise: Proven experience in commissioning vehicles within an OEM or Tier 1 context, preferably in motorsport or low-volume production environments.

  • Diagnostics & Bus Communication: Strong ability to use tools for ECU flashing, DTC handling, and communication analysis on CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.

  • Technical Knowledge: Solid background in electronics, embedded systems, EE and vehicle diagnostics. Knowledge of ECUs, startup logic, and system integration is required.

  • Program Management & Reporting: Ability to manage multiple technical inputs, summarize findings, and present structured reports to cross-functional teams.

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams, mentoring peers, and coordinating commissioning processes across departments.
  • Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, MS Project, MS Teams and Outlook. Familiarity with CANoe, CANalyzer and other OEM-specific diagnostic tools.

  • Soft Skills & Delivery Focus: Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-working skills. Ability to work autonomously, handle pressure, and deliver high-quality results on time.
