Join Bugatti Rimac and be part of a team driving automotive innovation to new heights.
You will be accountable for the development and technical validation of systems such as carbon fibre panels (visual and painted), closures with advanced kinematics (e.g. dihedral doors), premium finishes (metal, carbon, painted), and aerodynamic grilles and ducts. You will also oversee sealing system integration and collaborate closely across teams to resolve attribute and performance challenges. From initial concept to release, DFMEAs, and DVP execution, you’ll shape the technical direction of these critical systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical accountable for the Body Panels and Closures domain, guiding component and system development from concept through production
Own the technical validation of carbon fibre panels, including both visual carbon and painted surfaces, ensuring material and cosmetic excellence
Lead the engineering of closures with complex opening mechanisms (e.g. dihedral or other non-conventional kinematics)
Oversee the specification and delivery of exterior finishes, including decorative and structural elements in metal, carbon, and painted surfaces
Act as the technical owner of grilles and ducts, ensuring their functional and aesthetic integration within the vehicle design
Provide technical oversight of sealing systems, ensuring proper integration and performance across body panels and closures, in collaboration with attribute owners and the Body Systems team
Lead and approve technical documentation, including RFQs, 3D and 2D data, DVPs, DFMEAs, and validation reports
Be the technical entry point for the sub-system in the Program Concept phase, contributing to architecture layout and target setting
Define, maintain, and enforce engineering standards and procedures for the Body Panels and Closures domain
Contribute to the technology roadmap, working with the Technical Lead to integrate new materials, joining processes, or surface treatments
Mentor and support staff engineers (junior, mid, and senior) in the execution of development tasks
Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) are implemented in collaboration with suppliers and production teams
Manage technical relationships with Tier 1 suppliers, acting as a knowledgeable counterpart to drive robust, timely development
Support physical testing, validation activities, and prototype builds to ensure performance targets are met
Champion Class A surface quality and premium fit & finish across all relevant components
Skills and Competencies:
Deep technical expertise in automotive body panel and closure design, with experience in carbon fibre, multi-material finishes, and complex door mechanisms
Strong command of sealing integration principles and cross-functional collaboration to resolve NVH, water, or performance challenges
Experience leading the development of parts with visible Class A surfaces, including aesthetic and cosmetic quality control
Proven leadership in DFMEA and DVP definition and execution across complete subsystems
Proficiency with 3DExperience (3DX), Enovia, and Catia V5 for design, validation, and data management
Strong understanding of supplier-driven development, including co-engineering and industrial feasibility collaboration
Solid knowledge of materials (e.g., carbon fibre, aluminum, composite metals), and joining and surface treatment processes
Experience working abd characterising adhesives, paint systems, and metallic finishes such as anodization, brushed surfaces, or coatings
Excellent communication and decision-making skills; able to lead cross-functional discussions and represent the team technically
Attention to detail and ownership of visual, tactile, and performance quality of body components
